Uno de los rituales mas antiguos del iniciado es el ritual de protección personal. En una realidad como la nuestra, repleta de todo tipo de peligros reales e imaginarios, es necesario crear un campo de protección alrrededor nuestro para poder llevar a cabo nuestra voluntad, ya sea en la vida cotidiana, o en la realidad mágica.

Dentro de la realidad mágica, el mago se encuentra en todo tipo de situaciones en donde él o ella se expone a fuerzas aparentemente externas a su psyche. Durante experimentos en invocaciones, evocaciones, sueños lúcidos o viajes astrales, el mago se encuentra regularmente con todo tipo de entidades, como demonios, ángeles y otros espíritus. Como iniciado, uno puede elegir creer en estas entidades, o uno puede decidir que estas supuestas entidades no son nada más que construcciones de la imaginación. Sin embargo, no importa si el iniciado es escéptico o no, lo importante es realizar que la interacción con estas entidades (o imaginaciones) pueden crear problemas reales, como lo son las obsesiones. Estas obsesiones pueden terminar manifestándose en la mente del iniciado por medio de fobias, perversiones o manías, o sencillamente por medio de la falta de balance mental. Estas obsesiones también pueden contaminar el propósito del ritual mágico en cuestión. Es por eso que un buen ritual de protección personal antes y después de algún experimento mágico es siempre imprecindible, pues ayuda al iniciado a mantener todo tipo de entidades u obsesiones fuera del psyche personal, y ayuda a mantener el acto mágico sin impurezas o contaminaciones.

Sin embargo, los efectos de un ritual de protección personal no se limitan a experimentos mágicos en la medianoche en la habitación más oscura y callada de la casa. Los efectos de un buen ritual de protección personal pueden ser sentidos en la vida cotidiana, mientras sobrevivimos día a día en la vida real. El escéptico consideraría como placebo el efecto de un ritual de protección personal, creando en el iniciado la sensación de un aura de autoestima y de seguridad por medio de la autosugestión. Ese argumento es válido. Sin embargo, todo aquel que halla practicado algún ejercicio de protección personal podría asegurar que el efecto de ese ritual mágico se desborda fuera de la mente del iniciado hacia la realidad consensual, de maneras sutiles y tenues que nada tienen que ver con autoestima o autosugestión.

El siguiente artículo es una correspondencia escrita en inglés, la cual escribí hace par de meses atrás para un colega mío también iniciado en las artes ocultas. El ritual que menciono en detalle es una modificación personal del antiguo Banishing Ritual mencionado en los libros de la logias del Golden Dawn y de la O.T.O., el cual supuestamente ha sido practicado por todo tipo de magos a través de los siglos. Como en la magia del caos nada es verdad y todo es permitido, yo me tomé la libertad de modificar el ritual con elementos modernos, para así darle un toque interesante con significado personal. He bautizado este ritual con el nombre de The Downloading of the Firewall using Jedi Mind Tricks, pues parte de las imágenes utilizadas en este ejercicio están relacionadas al personaje del Jedi, el guerrero mítico y arquetípico moderno creado por la cultura popular contemporánea de nuestra generación. Por medio de la magia del cine hemos creado un nuevo arquetipo con la idea del Jedi, el guerrero noble, ágil y sabio cuya arma principal es el sable de luz. En el ritual el iniciado se convierte en un Jedi (o un Sith, cualquiera de los dos guerreros es adecuado), y por medio de su sable de luz concentra su voluntad para así crear un campo de protección. La idea codificada en la frase downloading of the firewall afinca en la mente del iniciado la idea de protección, por medio del lenguaje moderno de computadoras y electrónica.

The Banishing Ritual:  más viejo que el frío, pero tan efectivo como lo fue hace mil años atrás.

La carta fue escrita en referencia a situaciones hostiles que han tomado lugar en el trabajo. Por medio de sincronicidades, de rituales, de demonios y abogados, mi colega y yo hemos escalado a una posición de ventaja sobre nuestros enemigos en los últimos meses (más sobre esta situación en artículos próximos).

Lee las instrucciones de cómo bajar la pared de fuego, cómprate un sable de luz de juguete, y comienza a manipular la realidad.

"Hey boy

Rituals are nothing but the enhancing of your psyche through role playing. Role playing adds to the psychodrama, to the point were all your being, your body and your mind, truly believe what you are doing. It is not just standing around and reciting some weird, ancient names of forgotten, unknown gods, but instead, it is vividly using your imagination and engaging your whole being into a fantastic reality in which everything is created by you within your mind, and everything carries a meaning. By doing this, you are actively bringing your will to manifest itself, first, through the dreamworld of your imagination within the ritual, and subsequently, into your everyday reality. In other words, your desire is born in your imagination, and it spills itself into reality. Tonight after you read this e-mail, or tomorrow, before you go to work to face the enemies, I would recommend that you try a ritual of your own, loaded with all the symbols required to keep a potent firewall protecting you. Two things are required: imagination and concentration. Imagination is needed to create a cool ritual with all kinds of goodies, all of them specifically designed by you to set up a nice firewall. Concentration is required to be able to actively see in your mind what you are creating. It is for that reason that I perform my rituals in the middle of the night, when there are no distractions, and in the basement, away from everybody.

This is my ritual, so you can get an idea of what I’m talking about. Although I have different magical tools (the wand, the dagger, the cup, the lamp, etc., etc.), my latest favorite magical tool is the jedi lightsaber. I only paid 16 bucks for that toy at Toys-R-Us and I have to say I have never had so much fun in my adult life playing with a toy designed for a child. In your case, if you don’t have a jedi lightsaber (heh-heh) anything would do: a stick taken from your yard, a double edged knife, or even your own hand would do.

In a room of the house (or even outside, in the dark) clear enough space so you have a radius of about 6 to 8 feet in all directions. Put yourself in the middle of the invisible circle and face east, the place in the horizon from which the light is born everyday. To start with, imagine yourself in a dark barren landscape, and you are in the middle of it. Extend the lightsaber (or your hand, or whatever tool) towards the horizon and start tracing in the thin air a shape, be it a circle, a triangle, a square, whatever has any meaning to you (I happen to use the shape of the five point star, since it represents the four elements, fire, water, air and earth, plus the element of the spirit – these elements put together create man). While I make the shape in the thin air pointing towards the horizon, I close my eyes and visualize that shape in thin air leaving a trail of fire, in other words, I create a floating star of fire. That star floating in the thin air in front of me becomes like a portal from my soul towards the infinite, towards the horizon. While I keep tracing the shape in thin air, I start making a deep sound with my voice. A deep Ommmmmm is boring enough, and deep enough, that it can create a vibratory effect in you body. Sometimes, when I vibrate the sound right, I can feel the hairs in the back of my neck standing up. It is then when I know I am fully engaged in the ritual. Sometimes I used the sound Ommmm, sometimes I used an ancient name called IAO, which I can explain to you later what it means. While vibrating the sound and visualizing the flaming shape in front of you, then visualize a column of fire rising up from the ground into the sky. The column is far away in the infinite, and it extends into the sky high above also towards the infinite. The size and shape of that column of fire reminds me of pictures I’ve seen of a nuclear explosion, the base of the atomic mushroom. In my imagination, I am commanding that tremendous amount of fire to manifest itself, and I have complete control over it. Once I have created a good picture of that landscape in front of me, the floating star of fire, the humongous column of fire in the distant horizon, then that cardinal point is activated. I proceed then to face south, and repeat the same exercise in imagination and creativity until I have created the column of fire and the floating star. I do the same again facing west, and then north. At the end, you should be surrounded by four columns of fire, each the size of a nuclear explosion. You can hear the fire, you feel the searing hot winds, but they do not harm you in any way, because you are in command. Once I make a final visualization of all columns, of the whole landscape, then I imagine a point of fire that is born in the center of my heart, and which quickly expands in all directions- up, down, front, back, right, left- like a bubble of energy expanding throughout the whole universe, with my heart in the center. At that very moment, the ritual is finished, and the firewall has been downloaded.

To be a Jedi or a Sith Lord?  It all depends on the mood.

The benefits of this ritual are various. At the most practical, conscious level, it provides you with self confidence; almost – but not quite – a placebo for your ego. Knowing that you have performed a psychodrama of such caliber, your conscious mind allows you to surf through reality with an extra layer of confidence. Nevertheless, at a subconscious level, at the level where magic takes place, this ritual gives birth to a desire which eventually manifests itself into reality. It is possible that your enemies start looking you through a different light, a light so intimidating, that the only thing they can do is run and cover and tremble. Even if they decide to intercept you and threaten you, in your mind, a mind that commands nuclear fires at your will, their comments will be chickenshit to be thrown in a latrine.

Try it. You have nothing to loose but ten minutes of your time. In my case, this type of ritual has helped me maintain focused through the whole ordeal."
